đ Finding Clarity in Life and Career
Aug 07, 2025
Now that you’ve taken the time to understand yourself and assess your career, it’s time to go a step deeper—to envision a life that truly brings you happiness.
Your mind has done a lot of work up until this point, analyzing options, weighing pros and cons, and trying to rationalize the next step. Now, I invite you to tune into your heart and intuition.
My Journey
For much of my life, I approached big decisions with pure logic. I would list out all my options, write down the pros and cons, and choose the one that seemed best on paper. But no matter how rational my choices were, I found myself stuck in analysis paralysis—constantly second-guessing, hesitating, and struggling to move forward.
I was following what I “should” do, instead of what truly brought me joy.
Over the past few years, I’ve made a conscious effort to listen more to my heart. I studied mindfulness, trained as a meditation facilitator, learned from spiritual advisors in Guatemala and Peru, and pursued Traditional Chinese Medicine, where I discovered Infinichi—an approach that blends ancient Eastern wisdom with modern coaching techniques.
Instead of overanalyzing, I started asking myself simple yet powerful questions:
-
What brings me joy?
-
Does this make me happy?
-
Is my whole body saying “hell YES”?
And slowly, I began incorporating more things that sparked joy into my life.
Wisdom from my Teachers
My teacher Ananda writes:
Modern life is so fast-paced and distracting that some of us have lost the capacity to feel joy, ecstasy, or bliss. We are often motivated by obligation, financial success, or status. As a result, we miss the messages from our hearts because we are too distracted by outer motivations.
My teacher Dr. Mao Shing Ni writes:
Passion emanates from the heart. The mind is like a monkey, jumping from branch to branch, never stopping long enough for clarity and certainty. Instead, tap into your heart and allow passion to flow.
đ Exercises
These exercises are for those open to integrating inner work into their daily lives. If this doesn’t feel aligned right now, you can skip ahead to the Vision section to reflect on your future and dreams.
Step 1: Find a Quiet Space đ
Choose a peaceful environment where you can fully relax and be present. If your current setting is too hectic, set aside time in the evening before bed, early in the morning, or during a quiet weekend to practice what I call active meditation.
Step 2: Prepare Yourself for Reflection đ
Sitting still in meditation isn’t easy for everyone. If you’ve had a busy day, it might help to transition into a reflective state through movement.
Here are some ways to prepare:
-
If you feel restless or energetic → Do physical activities like running, dancing, or a gym workout. You can also try breathwork exercises to release excess energy.
-
If you feel tired or sluggish → Stretch, practice Tai Chi, Qi Gong, or yoga, or take a gentle walk in nature, preferably barefoot.
-
If you feel anxious or scattered → Create a soothing environment: take a warm bath with Epsom salt, light candles, sip herbal tea, or do a body scan meditation to release tension.
If your mind is still too busy, return to this exercise on a quieter day.
Step 3: Close Your Eyes and Envision Your Ideal Life đ
Now, allow the personal and professional sides of your life to merge into one unified vision. Imagine walking through a vast, open space filled with light.
Ask yourself:
-
When I fast-forward to the end of my life and reflect back, what do I want to see?
-
What does my ideal day-to-day life look like?
-
Who am I with?
-
What activities bring me joy?
Step 4: Capture Your Insights âď¸
When your meditation ends, write down what you saw, felt, and thought. Pay attention to recurring themes, emotions, and visions that bring a sense of excitement or deep fulfillment.
For example, if you envision yourself teaching, creating art, or working outdoors, take note of these cues. They are your heart’s way of guiding you towards a more fulfilling path.
Tuning into your heart is not about making impulsive decisions—it’s about aligning your choices with what truly resonates with you. The more you practice listening to your intuition, the clearer your path will become.
So, what small steps can you take today to bring more joy into your life?
