✨ What If You Just Gave Yourself Three Days?
Jun 26, 2025
Lately, I’ve been coaching a lot of high-performing women who are in transition—between jobs, relationships, cities, or identities.
And one theme keeps coming up: how overwhelmed we get when we think we have to figure everything out at once.
We want to eat better, sleep more, launch the next thing, find our purpose, heal the past, save money, and redesign our life—by next Tuesday.
I’ve been there too...
Burnout, a layoff, and a long season of feeling ungrounded, I kept trying to rebuild everything at the same time.
The result? I stalled. Or I moved too fast and crashed. Eventually, I had to do something different.
Here’s what helped: I gave myself just three days. Not to change everything. Just to shift the energy.
The 3-Day Reset
Instead of a big life overhaul, I focused on three things for three days:
🍽 Eat three balanced meals a day.
⏰ Wake up before 10 am.
📝 At the end of the day, write down what went well—without self-criticism.
That’s it.
The point wasn’t perfection. It was proof. Proof that I could feel better, clearer, stronger… just by showing up differently for a few days. That I didn’t need to drag my old habits into the future. That it wasn’t about motivation—it was about momentum.
Where Are You Putting Your Energy?
Most of us say things like “this is hard” or “I always mess this up” without even realizing it. That inner dialogue becomes a loop.
So I started asking myself:
- Did I consciously choose to think that?
- Which identity am I feeding?
- Is this thought expanding me or contracting me?
I started practicing infinite kindness with myself. Rewriting the script in real time. When I caught a negative loop, I’d pause and reframe it—not in a toxic positivity way, but in a grounded, curious way.
You Don’t Have to Do It All At Once
One of the biggest shifts? Realizing I could start where I was. I didn’t have to carry the pressure of being completely healed, successful, or clear to take a step forward. That doing the next small thing—with clarity, presence, and consistency—was enough.
That’s something I remind my clients of often:
You don’t need a full life plan right now. You just need a way to shift your energy.
A Few Practices That Helped
If you’re navigating a layoff, burnout, or uncertainty about what’s next, try this:
- Choose one area to commit to for 3 days. Just one. Not everything.
- Notice where your thoughts go. Are they helping or hurting your momentum?
- Close each day by capturing what went well. This isn’t fluff—it’s how you teach your nervous system safety and success again.
- Let it be fun. Seriously. Eat with gratitude. Go for a walk. Light a candle. Small rituals can reset the system.
- Don’t make this a personality test. This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about creating a clean slate. You don’t have to bring your old patterns into the next chapter.
Final Thought
Sometimes the most powerful reset isn’t a big plan—it’s just a decision to start again, gently. Three days. That’s all it takes to remember who you are and what it feels like to care for yourself again.
You don’t have to figure it all out today. Just shift the energy.
Let that be enough.
